KFS Announces 2,300 P&P Jobs; How to Apply

The Kenya Forest Service (KFS) has recently opened up job opportunities for 2,300 permanent and pensionable positions.

The government entity has listed the job vacancies for Forest Rangers (2,000), Forest Assistant (40), and Forester (260) for highly motivated and qualified individuals who are driven by performance.

The aim of this recruitment is to enable KFS to fulfill its mandate effectively and drive the country towards the target of 30% tree cover by 2032 from the current 12.13%.

The application process is free of charge and canvassing will lead to automatic disqualification.

The recruitment centres have been listed in all 47 counties, with Nairobi residents expected to head to the Nyayo National Stadium.

The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, March 7th before 5 pm. The application will not be considered complete unless the two steps of online registration and hard copy submission are successfully undertaken.

Forest Ranger position

For the Forest Ranger position, all applicants must be aged between 18 and 28, have a minimum of D+ in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, have a National Identification Card, be a minimum of 5.6 ft for men and 5.3 ft for women in height, be physically and medically fit, and have a clearance certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

Female candidates should not be pregnant before recruitment and during training. All successful candidates will be required to undergo a medical check-up at the Forest Law Enforcement Academy and undergo a rigorous nine-month Forest Law Enforcement (Para-military) training.

Forest Assistant and Forester

For Forest Assistant positions, interested candidates must have a minimum of D+ in KCSE and a Certificate in Forestry from a recognized institution. Meanwhile, those interested in being recruited as Foresters must have a Diploma in Forestry from a recognized institution.

It should be noted that successful candidates for these positions will not be required to undergo medical check-ups.

To apply for these positions, candidates must visit the KFS website at www.kenyaforestservice.org and click on the Jobs tab. Once on the platform, candidates should fill in the relevant boxes and await a notification email after successful online registration.

It is imperative for all applicants to print and attach the notification email as the first page of their hard copy application.

The hard copy application should include the reference number for the position applied for, the applicant’s current curriculum vitae, copies of relevant testimonials, academic and professional certificates, and a copy of their national identity card.

The deadline for submission of the hard copy application is Tuesday, March 7, before 5 pm.

KFS has warned that the application will not be considered complete unless both the online registration and hard copy application are successfully submitted.

Submission of the application through email only will not be accepted. Therefore, all interested candidates are urged to follow the guidelines provided to ensure a complete and successful application.
