The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) Examination results will be announced this week, according to Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu.

The three-week exam, which had begun on December 2, 2022, had a total of 884,263 candidates.

Marking of the examination, which is in its final phases, began on 2 January 2023 in at least 20 centers, the majority of which are located in Nairobi.

A multi-agency team closely watched the examination to ensure that it was free of any type of misconduct.

A shortened academic calendar caused by the 2020 COVID-19 epidemic will come to an end with the release of the 2022 KCSE Examination results.

The candidates, who were in Form 2 at the time the pandemic broke out, did not return to school until the full reopening of schools in January 2021.

The candidates will undoubtedly be lauded for not only making history by completing the Form 4 curriculum during the difficult times brought on by COVID-19, but also for enduring a second disruption brought on by the August 9 General Elections.

KPSEA Exam

David Njengere, the chief executive officer of KNEC, stated that KPSEA results will be released on January 16.

Njengere stated that the results of the inaugural KPSEA examination will be released in three reports.

KNEC will report on KPSEA at three levels: Individual Learners Report for the summative assessment, School Specific Report, and a National Report on School-Based and Summative Assessments.

The national report will be used to provide education stakeholders with feedback on intervention-requirement areas.

The report will show the percentage of learners at each permanency level for each subject and strand.

The school-specific report, according to Njengere, will only cover certain schools.

Additionally, the learners will receive Individual learner reports detailing their success in certain subjects or strands.

By January 16, parents and students will have access to their results through school portals.
