Kapsabet High School Maths Contest Champions to Study in Australia (mathematics contest)

On Sunday, May 14, the school made headlines across Kenya with the announcement of its annual national mathematics contest.
The event is aimed at creating a platform for learners to showcase their prowess in Mathematics and boost their confidence in the subject.

The top-performing student in Form Four will be awarded a scholarship to study in Australia, courtesy of Grace International Migration.
Additionally, another student will receive a full scholarship to study a Diploma course of their choice at Strathmore University.
In addition to these individual awards, the top student in every class from the Day school category will be awarded a whole year’s school fees.
Trophies will also be awarded to the best Boys’ school, Best Girls’ school, best-mixed boarding school, and best school overall.
Preparations for the event are currently underway, and the competition is set to take place on Saturday, May 20, from 7:00 am.
“The main objective of this is to create an avenue for learners to showcase their prowess in the subject and boost their confidence in Mathematics,” the statement read in part.
The Head of the Mathematics Department, Oliver Toroitich, has confirmed that Kapsabet High School is ready to host the event and is looking forward to seeing the participants in action.
Registration
Registration for the competition is open to all schools, and each school is required to present a team of ten participants in every class.
“The school may register as many teams as possible. Registration fee is Sh2, 500 per team. The results and awards will be presented the same day,” he said.
Kapsabet High School is a highly sought-after institution, and it is no surprise that it is among the top ten schools that received the highest number of applications beyond their capacity.
According to Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, Kapsabet Boys received 99,542 applicants against its capacity of 384.
