Silas Owuor, a 28-year-old teacher of Business Studies, was the victim of a brutal attack by unknown assailants on Wednesday evening, leaving him with severe injuries close to his home.

According to the school’s principal, Peter Omutiti, Owuor had just finished dispensing money to students from several parents for bus fare ahead of the mid-term break.

Shortly after, news of the attack broke out, and the school’s staff rushed to the scene, where they found Owuor unconscious. Tragically, he passed away on the spot.

The community is deeply shaken by this loss, and neighbours have expressed their grief, describing Owuor as a “good neighbour” who was “beloved by all.”

The local residents are calling on the county government to prioritize the safety of teachers and improve the security of the teachers’ quarters to prevent future occurrences.
