Grade 7 Capitation Out Next Week

The primary schools in Kenya will receive Sh15,000 for every student who has been admitted to grade 7 in their school.

This was announced by the Primary Learning and Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang, during the launch of Form 1 scholarships at the Jomo Kenyatta Foundation headquarters.

He said that the reporting process has been successful, and the schools will receive the capitation funds as soon as next week.

Over 1.26 million learners have already been admitted to junior secondary this week, and the process is still ongoing.

PS Belio Kipsang advised school managers to strictly adhere to the school fee guidelines, as they will not tolerate any teacher who charges illegal levies.

He emphasized that all the books have already been released to several parts of the country, which applies to both Form 1 and Grade 7 learners.

“As you report to your schools, you will find the books there, and we will ensure that the school fees are released in the shortest possible time,” Kipsang added. He also commissioned 3,000 scholarship beneficiaries under the JKF scholarship program.

In conclusion, the Kenyan government is making strides in ensuring that students receive quality education by providing the necessary resources and support.

The allocation of funds to primary schools will go a long way in improving the education system, and PS Belio Kipsang’s efforts to ensure that the guidelines are adhered to will prevent any financial exploitation of students and their families.
