Ministry Launches Form One Mop-Up Exercise

Professor George Magoha has directed ministry officials to trace all 2021 candidates who have yet to register for Form One. Officials must also monitor those who are reporting and ensure they continue to learn.

“One hundred transition started by President Uhuru Kenyatta has been very transformative. I want to ask the public to report any cases of pupils who have not reported to respective institutions they were called to,” Professor Magoha appealed.

He went on to say that the government was committed to achieving the 100 percent transition in order to move the country from lower-income to upper-income levels and meet the Big 4 agenda’s targets.

The success of the 100 percent transition, according to the CS, will help the county achieve the goals of Kenya Vision 2030, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, and the African Union Agenda 2063.

“These children are willing to be in school for they understand that education is an equalizer and a game-changer in their quest for a brighter future.

This is demonstrated by the fact that three counties have already reached 100 percent, while another ten have achieved more than 90 percent in transition,“ he said.

He revealed that overall transition increased by about 15% between last year and this year across the country.

“This is an exercise that must continue until all counties register 100 per cent,” said Professor Magoha.

The CS ordered all education and security officials in the 11 counties to begin tracing the whereabouts of the children under their jurisdiction.
