Dead Strathmore University Student Discovered Dangling In Wardrobe.
The death of a 21-year-old female Strathmore University student is being investigated by police in Lang’ata, Nairobi.
According to Lang’ata Sub-County Police Commander Benjamin Mwanthi, the student’s body was discovered in her hostel room at Madaraka estate on Sunday, June 5.
Her body was discovered in her wardrobe, with a scarf tied around her neck.
the gil’s body position suggested she committed suicide. However, Mwanthi explained that police can’t draw any conclusions until a postmortem is performed.
Nicole Chemutai Serem, a Strathmore University second-year student, has been identified by police.
“We did not find any suicide note on her,” said Lang’ata police boss Mwanthi. Serem was reported missing by her classmates on Friday, June 3.
On Sunday, police officers and the caretaker of the hostel Serem had rented broke into her room and discovered her body.
“Her body had no physical injuries,” said Mwanthi. Serem’s body was taken to City Mortuary for an autopsy.
This comes at a time when , police are investigating into an incident where a woman was discovered dead in a bar in Nairobi’s Kasarani area.
Witnesses told police that the woman, identified only as Njeri, was in the company of two men at the bar before they left her seated there.
It wasn’t until many hours later that the hotel’s management realized she hadn’t moved from her seat, and after further investigation, they determined she was unresponsive.
The body was transported to the mortuary in preparation for an identification and postmortem examination. So far, no arrests have been made.

In addition, police are looking for a group of bodaboda riders who stabbed a man to death during an argument in Nairobi’s Mathare slums.

Morgan Njuguna, 22, was stabbed and died in hospital following the altercation. Witnesses say they argued for unknown reasons before the Saturday night incident devolved into fighting and fatal stabbing.
The body was taken to the mortuary while the search for the suspected killers continues.
