Teacher escapes from Mumias quarantine centre

News reaching our desk is that a teacher has escaped from the Mumias isolation centre. Police are currently looking for the 36-year-old teacher from Kakamega County, Ingotse village.

The female teacher by the name Violet Shamala is said to have escaped from the quarantine facility on 4th of November this week.

Dr Paul Wangwe who is in charge of the Mumias West Level 4 isolation centre confirmed the reports.

“She sneaked out of the facility without the knowledge of the medical officers. Her condition is clinically stable but she is still infectious,” said Dr Wangwe in a report filed at the Mumias Police Station.

Area police boss Paul Kipkorir stated that they are hunting for the teacher.
