2023 Revised School Calendar For For Pre-primary, Primary, Secondary
The Education Ministry has released an updated school calendar for the year 2023.
According to a circular issued by Early Learning and Basic Education PS Belio Kipsang, the midterm break for pupils would be from March 16 to March 19.
Initially, the students’ break was scheduled to begin on March 23 and end on March 26.
Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, TSC Secretary Nancy Macharia, and KNEC CEO David Njengere received copies of the circular.
The school calendar has three terms and several breaks and holidays. The first term starts on January 23rd, 2023, and ends on April 21st, 2023, lasting for 13 weeks.
There is a half-term break during this term, from March 16th, 2023 to March 19th, 2023, lasting for 3 days.
After the first term, there is a holiday that lasts for 2 weeks, from April 22nd, 2023 to May 7th, 2023.
The second term starts on May 8th, 2023, and ends on August 11th, 2023, lasting for 14 weeks.
There is a half-term break during this term, from June 29th, 2023 to July 2nd, 2023, lasting for 3 days.
After the second term, there is a holiday that lasts for 2 weeks, from August 12th, 2023 to August 27th, 2023.
The third term starts on August 28th, 2023, and ends on October 27th, 2023, lasting for 9 weeks.
After the third term, there is a holiday that lasts for 10 weeks, from October 28th, 2023 to January 8th, 2024.
Additionally, there are 4 days for KCPE and KPSEA exams, from October 30th, 2023 to November 2nd, 2023.
The KCSE exams take place from November 3rd, 2023 to November 24th, 2023, lasting for 3 weeks.
And the marking of the KCSE exams is from November 27th, 2023 to December 15th, 2023 lasting for 3 weeks.
