2022 KCSE Exam Did Not Leak, Machogu Insists

Education CS Ezekiel Machogu has strongly defended himself against accusations of cheating during the 2022 KCSE exams.

During a Friday event, he addressed the press and denied any wrongdoing, stating that he had made sure to ensure the integrity of the exams was not compromised.

“I have seen a lot of misrepresentation and a lot of people coming up with information that is not true,” Machogu stated.

He also refuted claims that there was an increased number of Grade As in the results, providing a breakdown of the number of As produced by each county.

Machogu was particularly irked by accusations that his region produced 800 As, stating that such profiling of communities was unfair.

He provided specific figures, stating that Migori was the top county with 66As, followed by Kisumu with 59 As, Kisii with 50, Homa Bay with 47 and Nyamira with 31.

He further went on to condemn the attempts to undermine the credibility of the exams and urged the public to focus on the bigger picture, which is the education of the country’s youth.

He emphasized that the government’s priority was to ensure that students receive a quality education that will enable them to compete favorably in the job market.

In conclusion, Machogu stated that he would not entertain any attempts to tarnish his reputation or that of the education system and would continue to work tirelessly to improve the education sector in the country.

He urged the public to work with him in this endeavor and to provide constructive criticism that will help to improve the system.
