2021 KCSE Grade Distribution.According to Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha, the total number of candidates who received Grade A in the 2021 KCSE Examination was 1,138. (0.14 percent ).This was an increase from the 893 students who received an A in 2020. (0.12 percent ).Magoha stated during the release of KCSE exam results on Saturday that the number of candidates with a minimum university entry qualification of Grade C+ and above increased to 145,145 (17.49 percent) in the year 2021 KCSE Examination, up from 143,140 (19.03 percent) in 2020.“The percentage of candidates with a mean Grade of C+ and above has declined from 19.03 to 17.49,” he said.He stated repeatedly that the number of candidates with a minimum TVET Diploma courses qualification of grade C- and above in 2021 would be 325,896. (39.27 percent ).“We, therefore, need to invest more in TVET institutions where the bulk of our KCSE Examination graduands will study,” Magoha said.Last year, in the overall grade summary for 2020 KCSE results, 893 candidates, or 0.12%, received an A plain or higher.A total of 6420 candidates (0.85%) received an A- (minus). A total of 7313 candidates received grades of A- (minus) or higher.ALSO READ:14,427 candidates received a grade of B+ (plus), with a total of 21,740 candidates receiving a grade of B+.A total of 25,207 candidates received a B.
